      Hundreds evacuated after refinery explosion in ReginaCTVNews.ca Staff Date: Thursday Oct. 6, 2011 5:17 PM ETREGINAPolice say at least two people have been injured in an explosion and fire at the Co-op crude oil refinery in Regina.Officers are on scene assisting fire crews and directing traffic in the city’s northeast end.Witnesses near the site told a local radio station that they heard alarms before an explosion went off.

      Thick smoke can be seen coming from the refinery.
      Co-op says it is taking steps to account for employees and contractors on the site.The 75-year-old Consumers’ Co-operative Refineries in Regina, Saskatchewan has over 600 permanent employees and produces 100,000 barrels of crude oil per day.It occupies 554 acres of land in north Regina.

      Looks like CCRL Regina Refinery had fire/explosion Thursday.
       
      If you look at picture closely think you can see the integrated New Grade Upgrader coker in far left corner (opposite side of smoke).
       
      Note – Since picture didnt make post – go to link and see Regina fire picture & look at coker far left.
