It is possible to find out from the internet some information regarding the anticipated use of steam in the live coke drum before the switch:
Steam must be flowing before the switch and immediately after the switch otherwise the neat unconverted feedstock on the stock top of coke bead will run down the channels which will solidify and plug the channels.
We at least are afraid of the possible problem of coke drum velocities increase in the critical phase of the end of the cycle with transportation of unconverted VR droplets that could increase fines carryover to the transfer lines and fractionator bottoms.
Does anyone apply that? What is the opinion?
