For Fractionaotr bottoms to slurry circulating pumps, is there a preference of side inlet/bottom outlet coke strainers over side inlet/side outlet coke strainers?

If you’re talking coke fractionator, the  typical  design is outlet of the bottom and side return to the agitator ring, here you have to keep in mind is to keep out any deposition of solids from this outlet nozzle; there are several way to keep this  nozzle clean , some designs have some internally pipe over this nozzle and keep some flow on this outlet  to avoid deposition of solids, either with a pipe coming out of some of the holes from the  agitator ring (using the same  bottom fluid or using an external current (using part of the stream that feeds the fractionator ( vacuum feed), these filters should be as large enough media (open area ratio 20:1) and that the valves as far as possible be installed in vertical pipe sections or use valves that do not allow the accumulation of solids in the gate

Im sorry for my english, best Regards

The Fractionator is FCCU.  Sorry for not being clear.  The Fractionator bottoms will have a mix of slurry oil, catalyst fines and some coke.
