Pemex to Shut Cadereyta Refinery Unit for One Month (Update1)
By Peter Millard
Oct. 14, 2009 (Bloomberg) — Petroleos Mexicanos, the state-owned oil company, will shut a gasoline-making catalytic cracker unit at its Cadereyta refinery tomorrow for one month of planned maintenance, spokesman Rene Yanez Campero said.
The refinery will increase production at other units to compensate for the shutdown at the cracker, Campero said in a phone interview from Monterrey. The refinery is located in northern Mexico, near Monterrey.
Maintenance work will involve repairs at a gas escape in plant No. 1. The Cadereyta refinery processed 211,108 oil barrels per day in August, according to the Energy Ministry Web site.
