Valero Restarts Cat Cracker at Oklahoma Refinery After Outage
By Libby Sallaberry
July 11, 2008 (Bloomberg) — Valero Energy Corp., the largest U.S.
refiner, restarted a fluid catalytic cracker at its Ardmore,
Oklahoma, refinery after “electrical issues.”
The cat cracker was shut after it lost power early last
week, Valero spokesman Bill Day said in an e-mail. Power was
restored the following day, he said.
“There was no material impact on production, and the
refinery is at planned rates,” Day said.
Ardmore can process up to 92,000 barrels of oil per day,
according to the U.S. Energy Department.
Valero is based in San Antonio.
