Our coker has recently experienced 2 cracks in the blowdown line. Both at welds in the 30″ portion of the line on the bottom of the pipe. Does anyone have any experience with cracking in this line and what caused it? Our NDE from inspections do not show any general wall loss or other signs of corrosion, but we have not been allowed to remove a failed section for more thorough destructive testing.
