BP To Restart Ultracracker Unit At Texas City RefineryBy Rose Marton-Vitale  / July 25, 2011DOW JONES NEWSWIRES NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)-BP PLC  Tuesday it will begin the process of returning an Ultracracker unit at its oil refinery in Texas City, Texas, to normal operations. Emissions associated with the event there are expected to last until Friday, a filing to Texas state environmental regulators said.
It is not clear when operations at the unit were reduced or shuttered.
The company has struggled to bring the facility back to normal operations after a citywide power outage in April forced a three-day shutdown. The company- -which is trying to sell the refinery along with one it owns in Carson, Calif.– said late last month it hoped to return the Texas City plant to full capacity by August.
On July 8, BP told Texas regulators it was bringing the ultraformer 4 at its 475,000-barrel-a-day Texas City refinery back to normal operations.   A BP spokesman was not immediately available for comment.
