      BP Reports Malfunction at Coker Unit at Texas City Oil RefineryBy Christian SchmollingerApril 6, 2009 (Bloomberg) — BP Plc, Europe’s second-largest oil company, reported a malfunction at a coking unit at its Texas City, Texas, refinery.
      The unit, which breaks down heavy residues into lighter products such as naphtha and diesel fuel, “experienced a brief upset” at 5:58 p.m. local time on April 4, a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality showed.
      The Texas City plant, which can process 475,000 barrels of oil a day, is the fourth-largest U.S. refinery.

      Here is update on BP Tx City Coker Malfunction – with the Eni Fire it is shaping up not to be a good day for cokers!
       
      Note BP Tx City Refinery could lose its title as 4th largest title by end of year as other US Gulf Refinery expansion projects complete 4Q09/1Q10.
