- CRITICAL SPARES
- Spares often not included on Capital Projects.
- Spare Parts updates required per MOC, but not always completed
- Using spares to do PM change-outs can leave you without warehouse spares.
- Sharing spare parts across sites/companies.
MAINTENANCE WORK PROCESS
Job plan feedback
Turnover Communications
Vibration / PdM Rounds
Poor communication of maintenance issues can lead to normalization of deviance.
Separate coker maintenance group.
MAZE PUMPS / COKE FINES
Submersible Electric
Moisture issues
Floating suction to reduce fines pickup
Spargers to agitate: clean out
PM for vac truck cleaning
ELECTRICAL PM
Switch gear checks
Seal offs / Junction box covers
Corrosion
Cable trays w/ armoured cable
Infrared inspection
INSPECTIONS (PRE TA)
Challenges in developing TA plans
Update Inspection Plans based on incidents
PMI on construction & maintenance activities
Check coming into warehouse
Fixed interval or risk based inspection plans
NUCLEAR LEVEL GAUGE
Must set with drum water full.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS
Water Contamination
Full time vacuum dehydrator
Low pressure cooling water or hi- temp seals. ( remove water cooler)
Ensure drain lines clear
Oil change requires full system flush (turbulent flush not necessarily chemical clean)
Ensure new cylinders flushed prior to use.
SPARE UNHEADING VALVES
Cost justification?
Multiple components “borrowed”
Allows proactive rebuilds
Rolling swap-outs can significantly reduce TA duration
Button head studs can prevent breaking off studs
CHUTE PLATE REPAIRS
Worn steel/ exposed concrete and rebar
Consider “E” ss plate plug welded to original c.s chute
