From my online research it is estimated that the Lingen Refinery in Germany has a reforming capacity of 30300 Bpd. (2007 OGJ Worldwide Refining Survey). I also read that the total inventory of the unit is approximately 50 tonnes of catalyst (from an UOP report about installing the PS-40 CCR Catalyst).
How much does the quantity of catalyst vary for different reforming capacities? Is it linear or not? Is c.30k bpd around max capacity for 50 tonnes of catalyst, or could that amount of catalyst potentially process a lot more? How far can I extrapolate from the above as a rough estimate? Obviously it will depend on the specific catalyst but is what is a fair rough first approximation?
