County to hold training exercise at Rosemount refinery on Saturday Friday, 30 October 2009Dakota County will hold a training exercise at Flint Hills Resources Pine Bend Refinery in Rosemount from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
There will be a noticeable presence of emergency personnel in the area during the exercise, including a number of emergency vehicles.
Flint Hills volunteered to serve as the host site for the exercise to help local emergency personnel train for any type of industrial incident they may encounter in the community.
The training exercise also is an opportunity for the Pine Bend Refinery to test its own emergency response systems.
Training exercises are routinely conducted at the Pine Bend Refinery. Area fire departments frequently use the plants facilities for training purposes.
