May 16 (Bloomberg) — Hovensa LLC, owned by New York-based
Amerada Hess Corp. and Petroleos de Venezuela SA, has started a
crude unit at its St. Croix, Virgin Islands, refinery after
shutting it late last week for unscheduled repairs.
“The unit was started up and is operating at a normal
charge rate,” Alex Moorhead, a refinery spokesman, said in an
interview.
The refinery has a total processing capacity of about
525,000 barrels of oil a day, according to U.S. Energy
Department and company data.
