all, can anyone please explain the mechanism of salt deposition in the coker furnace? what is the limit of sodium and calcium in the resid? what would be the best method of removing salt deposition in the coker furnace?
Seems most people recommend to limit Sodium to less than 10 ppm if possible, and indicate tube fouling increases rapidly above 20 ppm in the feed. Mechanical cleaning (pigging) is indicated to be most affective for inorganic/salt fouling.
