Suncor reports problem at Commerce City refinery

Suncor Energy Inc. had an upset Tuesday in a fluid catalytic cracker at plant 2 of its Commerce City refinery, according to a notification filed with the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment. “As of late afternoon that same day, the unit was not back to normal operations,” according to the notification. The unit experienced a so-called catalyst reversal, which can occur when a line in the unit gets plugged up.
