Article published Tuesday, January 13, 2009Toledos Sunoco plant at reduced capacity
Sunoco Inc., the largest refiner in the Northeast, reported that a fluid catalytic cracker was running at reduced operating rates last week at the companys Toledo refinery.

Sunoco reported on Dec. 19 that the gasoline-making unit was down for unplanned maintenance and that several other refinery processes were running at reduced operating rates. A company spokesman didnt immediately return phone calls for comment.

The refinery, which straddles the Toledo and Oregon border, has the capacity to process 170,000 barrels of oil a day, U.S. Energy Department data show.

The Toledo and Oregon border? I knew I shouldn’t have cut so many Geography classes in school.

Yes – thats right a mind is terrible thing to waste.  Think city not state.  The cities of Toledo & Oregon actually have a dispute going over projects at border each trying to get more tax revenue from the refinery projects in play like Sunoco’s.  See some news items in local Toledo Blade paper/website.
