      Refinery Status: Exxon Calif. Plant Normal After Brief Flaring
       
      DOW JONES NEWSWIRES July 2, 2010The following table lists unplanned and planned production outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn’t purport to be a comprehensive list.
      An unplanned flaring event at ExxonMobil’s (XOM) Torrance, California, refinery had no impact on operations. The event was caused by the unplanned slowdown at an unspecified process unit earlier in the day, a company representative said.
      BP Products North America (BP) Tuesday said operations at its Texas City, Texas, refinery were normal following a brief compressor upset at an unspecified process unit, a filing to Texas state regulators said.
      ConocoPhillips (COP) Monday reported an upset at Unit 40, an FCCU, at its Borger, Texas, refinery. Maintenance has been underway at several units since June 5 and is expected to conclude around July 22, the company said previously. The status of the FCCU is unclear.
      Also at ConocoPhillips on Monday, the company said maintenance continues at its Borger, Texas, refinery following an upset Sunday at Unit 43, a SRU solvent still, that occurred during the restart of units, a filing to Texas regulators said.
      Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said Monday a coker unit at its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery was back at planned rates following de-coking maintenance that began on June 20.
      Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) Friday reported a brief period of flaring at its Texas City refinery during efforts to isolate a small leak in the Alkylation Unit feed bypass line. The event had no impact on operations, the company said.
