DOW JONES NEWSWIRES  June 7, 2010The following table lists unplanned and planned production outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn’t purport to be a comprehensive list.
Several units at ConocoPhillips’s (COP) refinery in Borger, Texas, will undergo maintenance June 5 through July 22, including the fluid catalytic cracker, a key gasoline-making unit, a regulatory filing said. The plant reported flaring related to
Exxon Mobil Corp.’s (XOM) refinery in Baytown, Texas, experienced a compressor snag at a deasphalting unit Saturday, but the incident did not impact supplies, according to a filing with state environmental regulators.
Flint Hills Resources LP’s refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas, reported a leaking cooling tower at its West Plant over the weekend, a regulatory filing said.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said maintenance would soon begin at its Aruba refinery, which the company has been trying to sell and shuttered last year for economic reasons. The company added it aims to restart the refinery later this year, unless economic conditions deteriorate. The refinerywide maintenance, called a “turnaround,” will commence in the next few weeks. That effort is expected to last 90 days.
Tesoro Corp. (TSO) completed a plant-wide turnaround at its Mandan, North Dakota, refinery early last week and returned production to normal levels, a company spokesman said Thursday.
A key-gasoline making unit at Citgo’s Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery tripped Wednesday night after a heavy rain storm, the company reported in a filing to environmental regulators. The company reduced the rates at a fluid catalytic cracker at the East plant of the 163,000 barrel-a-day refinery, according to the report.
