UPDATE 2-ConocoPhillips begins Bayway FCC restart – sources
NEW YORK, March 30, 2009 (Reuters)ConocoPhillips was beginning the restart of the fluid catalytic cracking unit at its 238,000-barrel-per-day refinery in Linden, New Jersey, after a month and half of planned work, sources said on Monday.
The 145,000-barrel-per-day gasoline-making unit went down for planned work on Feb. 18. The entire restart process was expected to take about three to four days, sources said.
A company spokesman said he had no specific updates about the refinery.
“Genscape monitors detected a return to service of the FCC at COP Bayway on Sunday afternoon March 29,” said Mike McAuliffe, vice president of sales and marketing for Genscape, a power industry data provider that monitors electricity use.
