Chalmette, La., refinery FCCU malfunctions-sources
HOUSTON, June 2, 2010 (Reuters) – The gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit at Chalmette Refining’s 192,500 barrel per day refinery in Chalmette, Louisiana, malfunctioned late on Tuesday, according to trade and industry sources.
A compressor malfunctioned on the 71,600 bpd FCCU, the sources said.
Gasoline was up 1 cent a gallon in U.S. Gulf markets due to the malfunction, traders said.
A spokesman for Exxon Mobil Corp, which operates the refinery, was not immediately available to discuss refinery operations.
