Exxon Plans Illinois Refinery Unit Repairs, Contractor Says
       (New York)
      By Aaron Clark
July 21, 2008 (Bloomberg) — Exxon Mobil Corp., the world’s
largest oil company, is planning repairs to a sulfur recovery
unit at its Joliet, Illinois, refinery beginning next month
      ,
according to a contractor’s Web site.
The “SRU turnaround” is scheduled for August to October,
according to a list of projects on the Web site of Deep South
Crane & Rigging, a refinery contractor.
Tricia Simpson, an Exxon spokeswoman, would not comment.
“We do not comment on ongoing operations,” she said.
The refinery is located about 40 miles southwest of Chicago
and can process about 248,500 barrels of crude a day, according
      to Simpson.
